Awards Won by the Students of Jagriti School
Bal Kalyan Sanstha, Pune is a Recreational and Cultural Centre for disabled children in the state of Maharashtra, India. It was founded in 1979. Many activities and programs are provided and taught by qualified instructors and coaches.

Every year, the institute celebrates the WORLD DISABLED DAY ON DECEMBER 3RD  by hosting competitions in the various skills taught -

The children of Jagriti school took part in the inter school competitions & won awards in the following categories.

Patriotic songs - First prize.13 children from the academic section participated.

Greeting card making with pressed flowers.
In 8-12 years category :
  Akash Kamble-1st prize.   Subhangi Bachute -2nd prize.

12 years -15 years category :
  Trishala Navalakha-1st prize    

Sports-District Level
  Ravindra Koli -gold medal in athletics-running.
  Rohini Shelke - gold medal in basket ball.

These competitions helps to boost the confidence level of the children and encourage them to lead a normal life.

Sports day for children of construction labourers
Sports Day was organized by us to provide opportunities for ensuring the participation of children in various competitions for their development. During this activity, participation of networking bodies and NGOs working for development of construction laborers children is ensured through combined Inter school sports and educational competitions.

This year we celebrated our 4th Annual Sports Day with children on 12th December 2009 at Utkarsha Shikshan Kendra, Viman nagar. The event started with sports followed by educational skills competitions. 520 children from Awakening Jagriti and Door Steps School participated enthusiastically in the sports competition.

There were 450 Children from CLC department, 45 from Child Rights Sector, 25 from Door Step School participated in this event. The competitions were conducted based on age group of children in disciplines of running, sack race, frog jump. Group games like Hoping, Relay and Tug Of War were also conducted, where children displayed their athletic skills and sportsman spirit.

After the Sports copetition Educational skills copetitions were held in which most of the children participated. Competitions like Drawing, Essay Writing, Good Handwriting, and Elocution were conducted.

The program was concluded with prize distribution ceremony.
